Static White LED Tapelight Dual Row

The SW-2X is built on a flexible, dual-row LED circuit board with 3M adhesive backing for direct-surface mounting. It is offered in a single IP20 construction for protected interior installations. Minimum channel width depends on power tier — 20mm (0.787") for the SW-2X-9 and 15mm (0.591") for the SW-2X-12 — and should be confirmed against the mounting channel or extrusion before ordering. Each reel runs up to 16 ft. 4 in. and is cut-to-length in the field at pre-marked intervals. The SW-2X is UL, cUL, CE, and RoHS approved and backed by a five-year warranty. 

The SW-2X operates on 24V DC constant voltage input, compatible with SAGE-recommended constant voltage LED drivers. Available across two power tiers, the tape draws either 8.8 or 11.7 watts per foot, delivering 872 or 1018 lumens per foot respectively, at an efficacy of 100 or 87 lm/W. Color temperature is available across eight static-white settings spanning 1800K to 6000K, with the specific settings offered varying by power tier, selected at the time of order rather than adjustable after installation. CRI is 90+, with chromaticity held to a MacAdams ellipse standard for tight color consistency across the run.

Understanding dual-row construction: Unlike a standard single-row tape, the SW-2X places two parallel rows of LEDs on one circuit board, roughly doubling the light output available from a given length of tape. This makes it the right choice when a project needs significantly more output than a single-row tape can deliver in the same channel or mounting location — high-output cove lighting, bright architectural washes, or signage where a single row would fall short.

Choosing a color temperature: The SW-2X-9 offers six static-white settings from 2700K to 6000K, while the SW-2X-12 extends the range further into warmer territory with 1800K and 2200K settings in addition to the same upper range, for eight total options. If a warmer, sub-2700K color temperature is required, the SW-2X-12 is the tier to specify. Because color temperature is fixed at the time of order, confirm the desired CCT against the project's other fixtures before placing the order.

Selecting a power tier: The SW-2X-9 delivers strong output at a higher efficacy, while the SW-2X-12 delivers meaningfully more lumens per foot — and access to the extended warm-CCT range — at a somewhat lower efficacy. The choice comes down to whether the application calls for maximum output and CCT flexibility (SW-2X-12) or strong output with better efficiency (SW-2X-9).

Driver and dimming compatibility: The SW-2X pairs with SAGE's recommended constant voltage drivers — the D-60W, D-96W, and D-300W, each offering 5-in-1 dimming compatibility, or the D-60W-ND for non-dimming applications. Given the higher wattage per foot of this dual-row tape, total the wattage across the full run carefully and select a driver with adequate headroom above that load; high-output installations may require multiple drivers or shorter individual runs.

Ordering logic: Use the format SW-2X-[Power]-[CCT]-[Length], for example SW-2X-9-27-ST, which specifies the 8.8W/ft tier in 2700K at standard 16 ft. 4 in. cut-in-field length. Note that the available CCT codes differ between the two power tiers — confirm the CCT code against the SW-2X-9 or SW-2X-12 column specifically, since the code sets aren't identical between the two.
