Slim Panel Round 7" Emergency Backup

The SPR-WL-7-EM is built with a metal housing in a white finish, sized to sit cleanly behind the SPR-WL-7 at 7.44 in. in diameter and 1.1 in. in height. It surface mounts to standard 2.75" and 3.5" junction boxes and houses an integral Li-ion battery pack along with the emergency driver. The 2-in-1 test switch and red LED charge indicator are integrated into the housing, so the unit can be checked without disassembly. Field or factory installation is supported, and the unit is listed for indoor and damp environments. 

The SPR-WL-7-EM operates on 120VAC at 60Hz with an input current below 120mA and is rated at 15 watts, delivering an output voltage of up to 110VAC to the connected fixture in emergency mode. Power is supplied by an integral Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3000mAh, which provides 1.5 hours of emergency operation following an initial charge of 24 hours. The unit is rated for operation from 41°F to 122°F (5°C to 50°C) and is listed to UL924 and tested to CSA C22.2 No. 141, with cULus, RoHS, Damp Location, and CEC Title 20 certifications. 

Part of the Candela Lighting SPR-WL family: The SPR-WL-7-EM is the emergency backup option for the 7" size in the SPR-WL Slim Panel Round collection from Candela Lighting, a division of SAGE Brands. It is specified alongside the SPR-WL-7 fixture, such as the SPR-WL-7-FS-WH, allowing a single slim panel platform to serve both standard and life-safety circuits across a project.

Emergency operation and the indicator light: While AC power is present, the unit charges its battery and the red indicator remains lit. When AC power is lost, the unit transitions to emergency mode, the indicator turns off, and the connected fixture is powered for 90 minutes. The initial charge takes 24 hours, so allow for that before relying on the unit for commissioning or inspection.

Code compliance: The emergency driver meets or exceeds NEC, IBC, and Life Safety Code emergency lighting requirements, and its battery charge efficiency meets CA Title 20 standards. It is listed to UL924 and tested to CSA C22.2 No. 141, making it appropriate for corridors, egress paths, and other spaces subject to emergency lighting requirements. Installation: The SPR-WL-7-EM mounts directly to 2.75" and 3.5" junction boxes and connects to the AC input of the SPR-WL-7 fixture, which is ordered separately. It is listed for field or factory installation in indoor and damp environments, and the integral test switch and charge indicator remain accessible for periodic testing.

Matching blank box for uniform fixture height: The emergency box adds height between the ceiling and the fixture. For projects where all SPR-WL-7 fixtures, both emergency and non-emergency, must have the same overall height, a corresponding blank box is available for the non-emergency locations. Specify it alongside the standard fixtures so the finished ceiling plane reads as one consistent layout.
